Deakin University, KA Building Infill
PROJECT FAST FACTS
|LOCATION||Waurn Ponds, Victoria|
Deakin University redeveloped their KA building to create more working space. This involved infilling an existing courtyard to create more floor space on levels 3-5. Our role was to draft, fabricate and install the steel package, integrating it with the structure of the existing building.
The new structure called for large, trussed frames to be fitted into the existing building. Project planning allowed us to fabricate large, transportable sections at our Delacombe facility reducing the amount of work required for installation at site.
Our project management team worked closely with the lead contractor to prepare an effective and efficient plan for installation using a tower crane.
