Shot Blaster

Shot blasting is a process that treats metals to remove rust, grease, scale, paint and other irregularities to create a smooth surface for applying a finishing surface. During this process, an abrasive steel shot is blasted onto the material surface. This creates a smooth and clean surface for easier fabrication or to apply the final surface treatment such as paint or powder coating.

Our automated, conveyor fed Shot blasting machine uses the mechanical blasting method where centrifugal wheels propel the abrasive shot at the material. The shot is captured and recycled many times.

In general, shot blasting prior to finishing serves three primary purposes:

  • Cleans and descales surfaces
  • Increase texture to enhance paint adhesion
  • Reduces maintenance costs by extending coating life
